Florida State Head Coach Bill Harkins announced that Matt Waesche has been promoted to Assistant Head Coach. Waesche will continue to serve as the Seminoles’ Defensive Coordinator, in addition to handling his new responsibilities. Waesche joined the Florida State staff in the fall of 2003, and has worked with the Seminole defense. During his time at Florida State, the Seminoles have won two SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championships and earned five invitations to the National Championship tournament. The 2010 Seminoles are off to a 3-0 start. Previously, Waesche had served as an assistant at Clemson from 1999-2000. Waesche is married to the former Dr. Jessica S. Brown, who conducts reading and learning disability research for the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University.
