The Florida State Seminoles reached the SELC Championship Game but lost to Virginia Tech this weekend in Johns Creek, Georgia.  The Seminoles defeated Alabama and Georgia en route to their fifth Championship Game appearance in nine years.

On Friday night, the Seminoles defeated Alabama 22-9.  Junior midfielders Brett Angerer and Luke Donovan led Florida State with 4 goals and 2 asssists apiece, and goalie Brad Chamberlin tallied 13 saves.  Defenseman TJ Dugan scored a goal and had 2 assists for the Seminoles, as did freshman face-off specialist Niko Beskid.

On Saturday night, the Seminoles used a late run to beat Georgia 10-9.  Donovan again scored 4 goals and two assists.  With 1:58 remaining in a tie game, Angerer (1 goal, 1 assist) fed freshman Will Goodman for what would turn out to be the game-winning goal.  Sophomore goalie Tyler Selman tallied 16 saves in the game.

In the Championship game on Sunday, the Seminoles fell behind early and could not catch the Virginia Tech Hokies.  Donovan added another 2 goals, and sophomores Zach Cervasio and Andrew Kiggen each had a goal and an assist.  In the end, it wasn't enough, as the Hokies won the game 15-8.
