Four Florida State lacrosse players earned All-America honors for the 2012 season. Luke Donovan earned First Team honors, TJ Dugan earned Second Team honors, and Brett Angerer and Nico Beskid earned Honorable Mention All-America Honors.
Donovan, a junior midfielder, led the Seminoles in both scoring (49 goals) and assists (23) en route to First Team All-America and Fist Team All-Conference honors. He closed the season with four goals in five of the final seven games of 2012, including 4 goals and 3 assists against rival Florida. Donovan’s 10 goals and 4 assists during the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference Championship earned him a spot on the SELC All-Tournament Team. Donovan was also voted Team MVP, and is the second Seminole to earn First Team All-America Honors (along with defenseman Jack Mata in 2011).
Dugan, a graduate student defenseman, earned Second Team All-America honors for his sound defensive play in 2012. He also helped the Seminole offense with 3 goals, 5 assists, and 49 groundballs. Dugan also earned First Team All-Conference honors, and was named to the SELC All-Tournament Team. Dugan becomes the second Seminole defenseman to earn All-America honors.
Angerer, a junior midfielder, has been named an Honorable Mention All-American. He tallied 35 goals and 17 assists for FSU this spring. He scored six goals against Georgia in February, and had the game-winning assist late in the fourth quarter when the Seminoles beat Georgia in the SELC Championship Semifinals. Angerer also earned All-Conference and SELC All-Tournament Team honors.
Freshman face-off specialist Nico Beskid also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors. Beskid won 188 out of 275 face-offs (68%), had 1 goal, 2 assists, and 53 groundballs for the Seminoles. Beskid earned All-Conference and SELC All-Tournament team honors, and becomes the second face-off specialist to earn All-America honors.
The Florida State Men’s Lacrosse team has had 20 players earn All-America Honors. In addition, 4 players have Academic All-America honors, including four out of the past five seasons.
