FSU Announces Changes to Schedule

Florida State Men’s Lacrosse is saddened to announce an adjustment to the planned trip to Long Island.  Due to academic considerations, the trip to New York to play Northeastern at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Boston College at CW Post has been cancelled.  The game with Boston College has been moved to Sunday, March 30th at the University of Maryland at College Park. "It was very magnanimous of BC to adjust their schedule and travel to play us on March 30th for an ACC match up at an ACC venue," said Florida State Head Coach Bill Harkins, "unfortunately, we could not reschedule the game with Northeastern." Each of the three schools involved feel badly, as all have current players, alumni and parents who live on Long Island.  "I regret not being more considerate of the players’ academic calendars before scheduling this trip," said Harkins, "We were very anxious to make the trip for many reasons, but most of all, we wanted to be able to play such prestigious schools as Boston College and Northeastern in the hotbed of lacrosse: Long Island.  Personally, I am good friends with Coaches Kaley (NYIT) and Jaz (CW Post), and having played and coached in Long Island, it would have been a real treat for me to play up there."  The Seminoles’ game against Virginia Tech at Johns Hopkins University on March 29th remains unchanged.  For the updated 2008 FSU Lacrosse schedule, please visit http://fsulacrosse.com/schedule.cfm
