FSU 16, Missouri 5

The Florida State Seminoles concluded their 2008 Southern Shootout with a 16-5 victory over the Missouri Tigers.  A stingy defense led by freshman Jack Mata, senior Mike Sipperley and long stick midfielder Sergio Episcopo limited the Tigers to just 5 goals on 21 shots.  Corey Noonan (5 goals) and Matt Jankowski (5 assists) led the Seminole offense.  Brian Lombard (2g) scored just over two minutes into the game to give the Noles an early lead.  Corey Noonan added three of his five goals in the quarter, and the Seminoles took a 4-1 lead into the second quarter. The Seminoles matched their first-quarter output with a 4-1 second quarter to take an 8-2 lead into halftime.  Seminole scorers in the quarter included Noonan, Stewart Lundeen (1g, 1a), Alex Pettit (1g) and Tyler Richey (2g).  In the second half, the Seminoles outscored the Tigers 8-3 en route to a 16-5 victory.  The Noles are now 6-1 on the season, and will look to improve to 7-1 on Friday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7 p.m. in Tallahassee).
