It is with heavy hearts that we announce that legendary coach Bill Harkins has passed away. Coach Harkins was an integral part of the Florida State Lacrosse program, bringing it to national prominence during his tenure. The level of organization, recruiting, and framework that he brought in created a culture of competitiveness and brotherhood that has endured over the years and will continue to live on. Because of Coach Harkins, FSU lacrosse has become a strong network of alumni, players, coaches, parents, and fans that cherish the garnet and gold.
Thanks to generous donations from Coach Harkins, our team has a proud facility on the University campus to call home. Harkins Field is a multipurpose facility shared by the Marching Chiefs, lacrosse, and numerous other athletic programs.
The lacrosse program offers our support and love to the Harkins family and the hundreds of alumni who had the chance to work with him during his time coaching the team. We are grateful for the opportunity to carry on Coach Harkins' legacy. We will have a dedicated ceremony at Harkins field in coordination with his family and friends at a later date.
